Healing Your Body

Starts With You

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a hands-on manual therapy in which I use my knowledge of applied anatomy to assess and gently treat restrictions in the body’s movement.

These restrictions may be impeding blood flow, nerve function, and venous and lymphatic drainage and delivery. This treatment is very gentle and does not involve any high-velocity, low-amplitude thrusts.

Applied anatomy refers to understanding where structures are located in the body and what they do. Osteopathy is a holistic approach to treatment, recognizing that all parts of the body are interconnected.

Rather than treating symptoms alone, I look for the root cause of dysfunction.

By restoring proper nerve, blood, and lymphatic flow, the body is better able to self-heal and self-maintain, leading to reduced pain, improved movement, and better sleep.

FAQ

What Is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of hands-on, manual healthcare that focuses on the relationship between the body’s structure and its function. It is based on the principle that the body has an innate ability to heal and self-regulate when its systems—musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory, and lymphatic—are functioning well.

Osteopaths use detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess and treat restrictions in movement, aiming to restore balance, improve circulation and nerve function, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Treatment is typically gentle and holistic, considering the whole person rather than isolated symptoms.

How long does it take?

Classical osteopathy is treatment based as opposed to time based. We treat every body uniquely so depending on what your body needs today. One Treatment is traditionally 20 minutes.

What is meant by “Classical osteopathy”?

A Classically trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner is a healthcare professional educated in the traditional principles of classical osteopathy, as developed by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still. This training emphasizes a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, along with hands-on, gentle manual techniques.

Where do I go for Treatment?

I will be working at various clinics, stay tuned to the booking page for the most up to date locations.

What should I wear?

PLEASE WEAR SOCKS and loose fitting clothing that you can move easily in. Tights are tight and can misrepresent lines of pull within the body. Dresses and suits do not allow for me to move all parts of your body as we assess every joint to seek out the cause of dysfunction.

How often do I go for Treatment?

Every body is different, and each pattern of dysfunction is unique. For some acute issues, I may need to see you a few days apart. Generally, treatment begins with weekly sessions, and as your body responds, we can gradually space them out. It may take 8–10 sessions to fully unwind a pattern, and if the issue has been present for a long time, it may take longer.
